Just one week into the school year, our class has read 25 books on Epic, and even more in class! Congratulations 5th Graders!
According to Newton's Law of Force and Acceleration, a force upon an object causes it to accelerate. Today we evaluated different scenarios and worked with a partner to decide whether the object in the scenario was increasing speed, decreasing speed, or maintaining speed. Then, we graphed our scenarios!

Our first day of school was an adventure to say the least! We are working hard to iron out kinks while trying to remain flexible. As predicted - this school year is like no other.
We fought back against technical difficulties and made room for learning. We also showed the whole school what a 5th grade line should look like and how to return to class after recess. We set an example that every class in the school could follow. Excellent job Purple Pandas! Each of us grew a little today! Tomorrow is new, and I'm excited to see what new challenges and opportunities it will bring. See you all tomorrow! Got TECH?
A laptop has been assigned to each student in our class. AND THEN we took it a step further and downloaded all the necessary apps on every computer.
We'll use the laptops in class for core subject work. This year, 5th grade also has a Technology class powered by a curriculum designed to help students become proficient at using computers for learning and producing academic content. Students can take their laptops home as a resource for homework and virtual learning. Pick up and tour your device at orientation NEXT WEEK... have you registered yet? It's time to go back to school!
After 4 long months of hanging out at home, missing my students and my classroom, I am excited to be going back to school in whatever capacity! I hope you all are as excited as I am. I have so much planned for you. Have you registered for orientation yet? Use This Link to join an orientation group. Let's get you all set up and ready to go! |
